Rick Takach is President and Chief Executive Officer
of Vesta Hospitality in Vancouver, Washington. Takach
co-founded the company in 1996, with a vision of creating
unique hotels that offer the finest in quality and service.
Through his leadership, the company has grown nationally
and now owns and manages 13 hotels in Arizona, California,
Georgia, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington.
Takach has more than 25 years of experience in the lodging
industry. He began his career as a night auditor at a
ski lodge in Vail, Colorado after graduating from Pennsylvania
State University with a degree in business administration.
He has since gained first-hand experience in every aspect
of hotel operations, management, and development. Before
forming his own company, Takach served as regional manager
for the Marriott Corporation in Bethesda, Maryland, and
spent seven years as executive vice president of the
Dimension Development Company in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
He has a reputation for attracting and retaining talented
hospitality industry professionals who have created award-winning
hotels with outstanding customer satisfaction. Notable
achievements include the $45 million renovation of the
historic Multnomah Hotel in downtown Portland, Oregon,
and the restoration of the historic Casa de Palmas Hotel
in McAllen, Texas. Most recently, the company completed
a $30 million transformation of the Hotel Zoso in Palm
Springs, California, turning the property into a state-of-the-art
destination hotel. Other properties also have received
awards for excellence.
Takach has been a Board member of the IAHI since 2001.
He has also served as Chairman of the IAHI Staybridge
Suites and Priority Club Rewards Committees, as well
as held various positions on the Holiday Inn and Western
Regional Committees.
In addition to his work with the IAHI, Takach is active
in his local community. As a Rotarian, he has twice served
as chairman of the annual Vancouver Festival of Trees
event, raising more than $350,000 for the local Rotary
foundation. He also supports other causes, such as the
American Red Cross Hero program and the Vancouver Symphony
Orchestra.
